Justfile vs Docker — They Are Not Alternatives

Docker gives isolation and reproducible runtime environments.
Justfile gives a standard command surface.

You can use one without the other, but together they are often cleaner.

How I Think About It

If I want everyone to start the same container stack the same way, I might use:

just infra-up

The Justfile command may call Docker Compose under the hood, but the project interface stays stable even if the internal implementation changes later.

Why This Matters

The distinction is useful because it prevents tool confusion.

Treating them as substitutes usually means mixing up workflow design with runtime isolation.
